High Volume Fly Ash Concrete – A Boon in Bulk Utilization of Industrial Waste
Abstract
High Volume Fly Ash Concrete-A Boon In Bulk Utilization Of Industrial Waste in the construction industry. This experimental work is an effort to try to develop people’s awareness and importance of industrial waste management and its use in a productive manner. Developed countries have made rapid progress in the use of additional cement & concrete cement material.
In this work I have chosen three industrial wastes for mixing with Portland cement Viz. Fly ash, blast furnace slag & glass industry waste. Then that of blended cement was tested for various cement properties such as Fineness, Standard Consistency; Soundness, Setting time & Compressive Strength.
I have improved results related to most of the cement properties compared to that of ordinary Portland cement. All these wastes prove true slogans that are “ash to cash” or “refuse to resource” and “waste to wealth.” Industries produce huge quantities of waste annually in our country. Instead of disposing of these waste if used in such a way, it will provide an eco-friendly solution to the problem of pollution at the same time. Such waste can be mixed with Cement, is the step towards the economy, and obviously towards the nation’s progress.
Conclusion
The industrial waste has a different industrial application and uses in the construction field based on the review of papers. According to similar percentages, fly ash, red mud, silica fumes and copper slag are replaced with construction materials and tested for strength. Thus, in their compressive strength and flexural strength in the concrete, all the waste has sufficient strength and durability.
Some of the wastes were calcinated and their strength improved. The authors have thus conserved their valuable mineral into a great breakthrough in replacing the civil engineering building materials. All industrial waste has improved their quality without affecting their strength.
