Civil Structural Health Monitoring System
Civil Structural Health Monitoring System,This thes is describes a CSHM method for assessment of civil structures by using a combination of advanced monitoring equipment with probabilistic based assessment. The numbers of civil structures such as bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, dams, etc. have increased dramatically the last 30 years since an increase in construction were present in the fifties and sixties.
The field of structural health monitoring (SHM) is rapidly growing to provide robust diagnosis and prognosis of many engineering systems spanning from civil and transportation infrastructures to aerospace and military applications.
The development and deployment of a robust SHM scheme is pivotal to ensure the safe and cost-effective operation of any engineering system. The development and deployment of a robust SHM scheme is pivotal to ensure the safe and cost-effective operation of any engineering system.
SHM is mainly a process of (i) observing or tracing the performance of an engineering structure/systemunderenvironmentalandoperationalloads by sensors and instrumentation devices, (ii) evaluating the performance of the structure/system for any development of defect or damage by use of the measured data and analytical tools, and (iii) issuing an alarm when the designated performance criteria are exceeded.

Civil Structural Health Monitoring System Project includes process of identifying and detecting weaknesses and damages in the infrastructure due to aging or any other reason, well in time so that a preventive maintenance can be undertaken before it collapses. It can also give warning about current state of the structure. The prestressing loss was produced by cutting tendon wires.
