Abstract of Trash Can for Urban Waste Management

Trash Can for Urban Waste Management project aims to optimize waste collection. The main objective of the project is to check whether the worker has attended the bin to dispose of it once he gets notified about the status of the bin (whether it is full).To check the status of the bin sensors is used. Once these measured values cross a threshold an SMS is sent to supervisor and worker. After SMS generation worker has to attend the bin to collect the bin. After he arrived he has to flash his RFID card to the reader attached to the bin so that an SMS will be sent indicating worker has come to collect the bin.From densely populated cities to smaller rural communities, waste management systems keep our homes and communities free from unwanted clutter.

Waste management is one of the primary problem that the world faces irrespective of the case of developed or developing country. The key issue in the waste management is that the garbage bin at public places gets overflowed well in advance before the commencement of the next cleaning process. It in turn leads to various hazards such as bad odor & ugliness to that place which may be the root cause for spread of various diseases.
