Customer Satisfaction Aware Optimal Multi Server Configuration for Profit
Maximization in Cloud Computing

Abstract

A growing number of enterprises are beginning to adopt cloud service along with the development of cloud computing, which promotes the emergence of many cloud service providers. Customer Satisfaction Aware Optimal Multi Server Configuration for Profit Maximization in Cloud Computing For cloud service providers, how to configure their cloud service platforms to get maximum profit becomes increasingly the focus they pay attention to. In this paper, we take customer satisfaction into consideration to address this issue. Customer satisfaction in two ways affects cloud service providers ‘ profit.
Customer Satisfaction Aware Optimal Multi Server Configuration for Profit Maximization in Cloud Computing The cloud configuration, on the one hand, affects service quality, which is an important factor affecting customer satisfaction. On the other hand, customer satisfaction affects a cloud service provider’s request arrival rate. However, few existing works take customer satisfaction into account in solving profit maximization problem, or existing works considering customer satisfaction do not give it a proper formalized definition.

Conclusion

We consider customer satisfaction with profit maximization in solving the optimal configuration problem. Because existing works do not provide a proper definition and calculation formula for customer satisfaction, we first give a definition of customer satisfaction leveraged from economics and develop a formula for measuring customer satisfaction in cloud. Based on the affection of customer satisfaction on workload, we analyze the interaction between market demand and customer satisfaction and under different configurations give the calculation of the actual task arrival rate.
