A growing number of enterprises are beginning to adopt cloud service along with the development of cloud computing, which promotes the emergence of many cloud service providers. However, few existing works take customer satisfaction into account in solving profit maximization problem, or existing works considering customer satisfaction do not give it a proper formalized definition.

We consider customer satisfaction with profit maximization in solving the optimal configuration problem. Because existing works do not provide a proper definition and calculation formula for customer satisfaction, we first give a definition of customer satisfaction leveraged from economics and develop a formula for measuring customer satisfaction in cloud. Based on the affection of customer satisfaction on workload, we analyze the interaction between market demand and customer satisfaction and under different configurations give the calculation of the actual task arrival rate.
