Business Value-Aware Task Scheduling for Hybrid IaaS Cloud

Abstract

Since a provider of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) has limited resources, to meet the peak demand, it faces the challenge of scheduling tasks. The task scheduling issue for hybrid cloud from the perspective of an IaaS provider should be addressed properly for this issue. However, existing research does not consider either processing tasks with slack temporal constraints or business value from the perspective of an IaaS provider, or it must specify the type of Virtual Machine (VM) prior to each task. In this Business Value-Aware Task Scheduling for Hybrid IaaS Cloud paper, we first formalize the problem in which both process tasks with slack temporal constraints and VM type selection optimization are considered, and business value is taken as the goal to comprehensively measure an IaaS provider’s earned value.

Conclusion

We presented the cost priority in this Business Value-Aware Task Scheduling for Hybrid IaaS Cloud paper to schedule tasks on cloud resources that satisfy the user budget. The Scheduling Cost Approach (SCA) calculates all resources ‘ costs.
