Crow Search Based Virtual Machine Placement Strategy in Cloud Data Centers with Live Migration

Abstract

Cloud computing has emerged as the most revolutionary computing technology. The cloud service providers (CSPs) have at their disposal high computational facilities called data centers (DCs). Crow search based virtual machine placement strategy in cloud data centers with live migration CSPs provide users with virtual machines (VMs) services. VM placement is mapping VMs to host physical machine. We propose a two-tier virtual machine placement algorithm in this paper.

Crow search based virtual machine placement strategy in cloud data centers with live migration First, to manage and schedule a large set of VMs, we propose a queueing structure. Second, a multi-objective VM placement algorithm called crow search based VM placement (CSAVMP) is proposed to reduce data center resource wastage and power consumption. For activities like maintenance, load balancing, fault tolerance etc.,

Conclusion

We addressed the issue of placement of VM in this paper. With increasing cloud use, more VMs are to be consolidated on fewer DCs through effective use of DCs. We proposed two different algorithms that use crows ‘ clever behavior to solve the problem of placement.
