Constructing a User-Friendly and Smart Ubiquitous Personalized Learning Environment by Using a Context-Aware Mechanism

Abstract

Few studies have investigated the application of adaptive learning content to different learning environments and efficient input interfaces.A context-aware mechanism that allows students to provide the appropriate information in a personalized context-aware recommendation (PCAR) system by using GPS technology,Constructing a User-Friendly combined with quick and user-friendly QR code inputs, allowing students to immediately store useful external content as material for their learning.

Personalized Learning Environment by Using a Context-Aware Some studies investigated m-learning to explore the characteristics of suitable learning content at the right time and place.

The continuous innovative progress of various types of mobile equipment has led to a boom in m-learning with the aim of creating a learning environment unrestricted by temporal or spatial factors that can afford appropriate information anytime and anywhere.

Numerous studies have also been investigated methods for constructing a learning environment unrestricted by time and space that can support learning  to ensure that learners can access interesting learning information anywhere through mobile devices. Other studies have investigated methods for collecting the learning records of learners by using mobile devices and analyzing the data to facilitate learning in high school physics and chemistry courses.

Conclusion

Learners can access personal learning materials at any time and anywhere using a smartphone or mobile device equipped with the PCAR system. The proposed mechanism was verified to benefit English learning by the experimental results.

The PCAR m-learning system provides personalized learning content at any time and anywhere according to the learning-log of a learner that records individual learner’s learning behaviors.

This system can also recommend appropriate English learning materials relevant to the specific environment of a learner through the context-aware mechanism.This creates an omnipresent and virtual English learning environment for learners to stimulate their interest in language learning; this increased interest was verified by the students ‘ responses to survey questions.

The research has developed an intelligent learning platform to adapt the learning material to different students. It also enables a virtual English learning environment to facilitate learning foreign languages.
