Sustanable and Cost Effective Building Material Technology through Partial Replacement of Cement by Granite Cutting Slurry Waste Powder and Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregates by Mangalore Tile Bats for Arch Lintels
Sustanable And Cost Effective Building Material Technology The Optimization of Granite Powder and its effect on fresh and hardened properties of Ready Mix Concrete with partial replacement to Cement were investigated. Specimens were tested for evaluation of optimum percentage of Granite Powder in Ready Mix Concrete for Compressive Strength.
Workability was measured in terms of Slump and Compacting factor. The Ready Mix Concrete exhibits excellent strength with 20 percent replacement of Cement by Granite Powder along with Manufactured Sand. Granite Powder and Manufactured Sand can be used in concrete as viable alternative materials in making the Concrete. This paper proposes the Applications of Granite Powder and Manufactured Sand as an attempt towards sustainable development in India.
From the experimental test results, Granite dust powder found to be better performance in workability and strength properties.
- From the compression test results it is found that the concrete mix with 15% replacement of cement with Granite Dust Powder shows the higher compressive strength than the Reference concrete mix for both 7 days and 28 days curing.
- Cost analysis is the very important factor to be considered, while analyzing the experimental work. Based on the cost analysis, the cost for Reference concrete mix is Rs.5471 per m 3 and for concrete mix with 15% GDP is Rs.5017 per m3 which is 8.3% less than the cost of reference mix.
