Resource Planner java project report To plan resources for multiple parallel projects is not an easy task, this has been experienced at a contract manufacturing company called Sanmina in Örnsköldsvik where this thesis work was performed. The aim of this thesis was to identify the problems with the resource planning process used today and to come up with a feasible solution. Different factors such as routines, formalization, time resources and opportunities for recuperation was also investigated to see if a solution to the identified problems could be used to decrease the amount of perceived psychological stress reactions. In the pre-study phase a series of interviews was performed to get a better understanding of the current problems and this knowledge was then used to see if any existing tool for resource planning could be used. No tool was found that fulfilled all the requirements.

Resource Planner java project report The conclusion from this study is that resource planning is clearly still an issue in multi project organizations such as Sanmina. The problems uncovered in this study shows resemblance with problems presented in previous studies and the people working in these projects was shown to experience high levels of project overload which led to psychological stress reactions outside and inside their working hours. The research question for this study was: Will the use of a tool for resource planning reduce the amount of perceived psychological stress reactions in a multi-project organization? A number of factors were evaluated to answer this question and the answer to the question above is yes for the case at Sanmina in Örnsköldsvik studied in this thesis. This answer is based on the evaluation done for each one of the factors affecting stress.
