Feasibility Studies on Roof Top Rainwater Harvesting at N.E.T. Campus, Nitte
Abstract
Feasibility Studies On Roof Top Rainwater Harvesting At N.E.T. Campus, Nitte will prompt high utilization rate of the most profitable regular asset; Water’s subsequent enlargement of weights on permitted freshwater assets. Old technique of damming waterways and transporting water to urban areas has its own issues of eternal social and political inconvenience.
Keeping in mind the ultimate goal of saving and taking care of our day-to-day water demand prerequisite, we have to think about elective savvy and generally less demanding mechanical water monitoring techniques. Rain water harvesting is outstanding among other techniques that satisfy those needs.
Required information is gathered as a matter of primary importance, i.e. catchment areas and information on hydrological precipitation. Ideal tank area based on hydrological investigation. Rain is a definitive spring of new water. The rain water is one of the purest form of water and does not contain any suspended / dissolved impurities.
We depend entirely on rivers, lakes and groundwater for our water requirement. However, rain is the ultimate source that feeds all of these sources. Rain water harvesting means optimizing the use of rain water at the point where it falls, i.e. preserving it and not allowing drainage and causing floods elsewhere. The increased resources can be harvested whenever necessary.
Advantages
The environmental advantage and purity of rainwater over other water options makes it the first choice, even though the precipitation cycle may vary from year to year.
Conclusion
This paper addressed all aspects of improving the water scarcity problem on the NIT Rourkela campus by implementing ancient old rainwater harvesting technique. This reservoir should build 9942.1 m3 of water for storage. If water is not potable, water treatment may be necessary to make it suitable for human consumption. Collecting the rain falling on a building and using it for various purposes is a simple concept.
