A Comprehensive Approach for Analysis and Design of an Multistoried Building Using Staad Pro-2003
Abstract
To analyze A Comprehensive Approach For Analysis And Design Of An Multistoried Building Using Staad Pro-2003 multi-story building, consider all possible loadings and see that the structure is safe against all possible loading conditions. There are several methods for analyzing different frames, such as kani method, cantilever method, portal method, Matrix method. The present project deals with the analysis of a multi-storeyed G+6 residential building consisting of 5 apartments in each floor.
STAAD or (STAAD.Pro) is a structural analysis and computer design program originally developed by Research Engineers International in Yorba Linda, CA. Bentley Systems bought Research Engineer International in late 2005. The collected data is analyzed and a 3-D model is generated using STAAD Pro. It is very important for a structural engineer to save time in order to compete in the ever-growing competent market.
With its new features, STAAD Pro surpassed its predecessors and compotators with its data sharing capabilities with other major software such as AutoCAD and MS Excel. We conclude that staad pro is a very powerful tool that can save a lot of time and is very accurate in Designs. It must take into account movements and forces due to temperature, cracking, cracking and loads imposed.
It must also ensure that the design is practically buildable within the materials ‘ acceptable manufacturing tolerances. The aim of this project work is to analyze a 5-story hostel building using STAAD Pro software for different load combinations. Based on the analysis, the structure is designed mainly in accordance with IS specifications.
Conclusion
- Short term deflection of all horizontal members is within 20mm
- The structural components of the building are safe in shear and flexure.
- Amount of steel provided for the structure is economic.
- There is no such large difference in analysis results of STAAD Pro and Kanis method.
